COVID Guidelines
2022-2023

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

The safety of our dancers and teachers is most important as we navigate through the pandemic. At any time, should the state’s guidelines change and/or we feel that it is in everyone’s best interest, we may need to change these policies.

  • Face coverings are optional for faculty, parents, and dancers.

  • Soap, water and hand sanitizer will always be readily available and encouraged to use frequently.

  • In 2020 we installed UV lights in the ducts and have a fresh air exchange built into the studio ventilation system. Filters are changed as recommended to keep our environment as safe as possible.

IF YOU ARE EXPOSED:

  • If a student is exposed to COVID-19 and is fully vaccinated:

    • Student can continue taking dance classes but must wear a mask.

    • After 5 days the student must take a COVID test.

    • If the student is positive they should remain out of the studio for 5 days.

    • Student can return to dance on day 6 if they have no symptoms or fever and they wear a mask.

    • Student should continue to wear a mask for 5 additional days.

  • If a student is exposed to COVID-19 and is not fully vaccinated:

    • Student should isolate and remain out of the studio for 5 days.

    • After 5 days the student must take a COVID test.

    • If the student is negative, they may return to class but must wear a mask for 5 days.

    • If the student is positive they should remain out of the studio for 5 additional days.

    • Student can return to dance on day 6 if they have no symptoms or fever and they wear a mask.

    • Student must wear a mask for another 5 days.

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP PROCEDURE:

  • Students should be dropped off 5 minutes before their scheduled class and may go upstairs to the waiting room. Please DO NOT arrive earlier than 5 minutes to minimize potential close contacts with other classes.

  • At this time, we are keeping the waiting room closed to all parents, guardians, etc., to limit the traffic in the studio.

  • Classes will no longer be ending 10 minutes early, and will be the full length as stated in the fall schedule. You MUST be on time to pick up your student to minimize potential close contacts with other classes.

Exception:

Tuesday 4:00, Wednesday 4:15, Saturday 9:00, and Saturday 10:30 (Combo Classes 3+ and 5+) may have one parent/guardian accompany the student to class and can remain in the waiting room. We encourage siblings to stay at home. We understand that is not always possible and they will be allowed in with the parent/guardian when needed.

DANCE CLASS GUIDELINES:

  • All classes will be in person only this year. We will keep a zoom option open for students unable to join in person due to COVID restrictions. If an entire class or group is in quarantine the class will be held on zoom until the quarantine is over. The studio will notify classes if we have to host zoom instead of in person classes.

  • Dancers are asked to use the restroom before arriving at the studio.

  • All dancers are required to arrive dressed to class. Our changing room will be closed. Dancers may bring a small bag with dance shoes and other necessities.

  • Students MUST bring their own water to class. Bottled water is not available through the studio. If your child forgets their water, there will only be dixie cups at the sink.

  • Please label your water bottle and shoes with your dancer’s name. Dancers are asked to not share any personal items including water bottles, clothing, equipment, etc.
